Venues

On the opening and closing day (Tuesday 25th and Saturday 29th June) the school will take place in rooms Calidoscopi 1 and 2 of the Centre Cívic Convent de Sant Agustí, in the city centre of Barcelona. The full address is C/ del Comerç, 36, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain.

The lectures from Wednesday 26th to Friday 28th will take place in the University of Barcelona Physics Faculty. The full address is Carrer de Martí i Franquès, 1-11, 08028 Barcelona, Spain. The room for Wednesday 26th will be Aula N06M. Please note that the building has multiple entrances. You should access the building from its entrance in Carrer de Pau Gargallo.

Bar night and closing dinner

The self-paid dinner and bar night will take place on Tuesday 25th at 21:00 in La Hacienda Princesa. The full address is Carrer de la Princesa, 23, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona, Spain.

The venue serves a diverse and exciting range of Mexican + Tex Mex foods and drinks. We need to arrive as one group, so the historical tour will end in this venue. This activity is optional. We made a booking for 25 people and the majority should order food.

The closing dinner will take place on Friday 28th at 19:30 in the restaurant Buenissimo, located at Carrer d’En Bot, 4, Ciutat Vella, 08002 Barcelona.

This activity is included in the registration fee. We have booked a three course menu with diverse options, and including all drinks.

Transportation

The Centre Cívic Convent de Sant Agustí is in the city centre of Barcelona, less than 600 meters from the metro stations Arc de Triomf (red line L1) and Jaume I (yellow line L4) and with several bus stops nearby. The University of Barcelona Physics Faculty is right by the metro stop Palau Reial (green L3).

La Hacienda Princesa is within 250 meters of the day’s venue Centre Cívic Convent de Sant Agustí. The restaurant Buenissimo is also located in the city centre, about 400 meters from the metro station Liceu (green line L3, the same as the Physics Faculty).

Accommodation

As the venues can be easily reached by a short metro or bus ride from anywhere in the city, there is no strict need to find accommodation near them. Barcelona offers a variety of accommodation options depending on individual needs.

Accessibility

The Centre Cívic Convent de Sant Agustí and the Physics Faculty are wheelchair accessible. The faculty building’s entrance doors can be reached via street level or ramps, but they do not have a function for automatically opening the doors.

The metro stops Arc de Triomf, Jaume I, Palau Reial and Liceu are all wheelchair accessible. A map of all the accessible stations in the Barcelona metro is available.
